Jacek Kaspszyk conducts the Warsaw Philharmonic celebrating Poland’s Centenary of Independence
Jacek Kaspszyk will conduct the Warsaw Philharmonic Gala concerts, celebrating 100 years of Poland’s Independence. The concerts will feature an all-Szymanowski programme (Concert Overture in E Major, Symphony No 4 and Harnasie) and take place on 9 and 10 November at the Warsaw Philharmonic Hall. In addition to the Warsaw Philharmonic Orchestra, Kaspszyk will be joined by the Warsaw Philharmonic Choir, pianist Nicholas Angelich and tenor Tomasz Warmijak.
Following the Gala concerts, Kaspszyk will conduct the Inaugural Concert for the Krzysztof Penderecki Festival in honour of the composer’s 85th birthday, on 16 November. The concert will feature three pieces by Penderecki: Polonaise, Cello Concerto No 2, and The Sea of Dreams Rushed Over Me – Songs of Reflection and Nostalgia for including a soprano, mezzo-soprano, baritone, choir and orchestra.
