Boston Symphony Chamber Players tour Europe

The Boston Symphony Chamber Players — one of the world’s most distinguished chamber ensembles sponsored by a major symphony orchestra and made up of principal players from that orchestra — will be featured in a nine-city European tour this month, with concerts in Istanbul (May 9), Berlin (May 11), Munich (May 12), Warsaw (May 14), Luxembourg City (May 15), Prague (May 16), Aalborg (May 18), Aarhus (May 19), and Dublin (May 21).

The tour programme will feature works by Barber, Brahms, Poulenc, Haydn, and Mozart, as well as Jean Françaix’s Dixtuor for wind and string quintet, Beethoven’s Septet for winds and strings, and American composer Michael Gandolfi’s Plain Song, Fantastic Dances – three works closely associated with the BSCP.

Pianist Garrick Ohlsson, a frequent collaborator with the BSCP, will be featured with the ensemble in works by Brahms, Poulenc and Haydn.
